This home's design was commissioned in order to rethink, reorganise and extend a 1960's brick built detached house.
This transformation was achieved by introducing two extruded forms—one at the front and one at the rear—both clad in Western Red Cedar. The existing brickwork was refinished with a sleek acrylic-based render, creating a striking contrast between old and new.
Inside, a standout feature is the folded cantilever staircase, designed with a suspended timber battened support structure that creates the illusion of levitation. This floating staircase, with its sleek vertical wooden slats, not only adds warmth and texture but also serves as a striking architectural centrepiece.
Warm wooden flooring adds both sophistication and a welcoming, cosy atmosphere. The curved wall softens the space, complementing the natural oak flooring and muted green walls, resulting in a bright, airy, and inviting interior.

A striking fusion of modern elegance and natural charm, this contemporary home features a sleek asymmetrical roofline, expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, and a seamless blend of materials.
The newly built extension is clad in warm Canadian Western Red Cedar, while the original home is finished in crisp white render, creating a bold contrast that enhances architectural depth and texture.
Inside, the foyer is flooded with natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows, seamlessly connecting indoor and outdoor spaces.
Openness, light, and thoughtful design coming together in perfect harmony.
